1stSGT Ernesto G. Diaz, USMC (Ret.) proudly served 24 years of honorable service in the United States Marine Corps, demonstrating exemplary leadership, discipline, and devotion to duty throughout his distinguished military career. His Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) as a Communicator (2500) was complemented by a wide range of specialized roles, including Nuclear Biological Chemical NCO and Instructor, Primary Marksmanship Instructor (PMI), Company Color Guard, Non-Commission Officer School Instructor, Rifle Ranger Officer, Communication Chief, and Military Advisor to the Naval Construction Force, 7th Regiment.
As a 1st Sergeant, he served in key battalions and groups such as 8th Comm Bn, 6th Comm Bn, 9th Comm Bn, and the 2nd Surveillance, Reconnaissance, Intelligence Group (SRIG), contributing to critical operations during Desert Shield, Desert Storm, and the War on Terrorism. His steadfast commitment and experience have left an enduring mark on the Marine Corps and those who served alongside him.
After retiring from active duty, Ernesto pursued higher education, earning a degree in Business Administration – Accounting from Lehman College. His leadership continued on campus as President of the Borough of Manhattan Community College Accounting Club and Officer Secretary of the Lehman College Veterans Club, where he advocated for student veterans and promoted academic excellence.
Currently employed by the New York State Department of Finance Services, Ernesto brings the same integrity, precision, and dedication to his civilian work that defined his military service. A true patriot and lifelong public servant, he remains a powerful example of commitment, excellence, and honor.
